Brief Technical Document for DeMATrix
Introduction . . .
DeMATrix has been designed to automate the operational requirements of depository participants for NSDL & CDSL, by keeping in mind the operational flow at DP office. This system augments the depository system giving more system security in transaction processing and a robust billing, apart from automating host of back-office operations of DP. DeMATrix is a Robust, Intelligent and eXcellent, Managing and Accounting T ool for the Depository Participants operation.
What makes DeMATrix unique is . . .
Dot Net Technology
DeMATrix is web based system built on Dot Net Technology, coupled with Windows server 2003 enhances security and increases performance nearly by 2 times on the same hardware compared with other versions of Windows operating system.
The DeMATrix system uses XML, XSL along with java script to create lightweight code to handle user interface.
Smart Design
User interface is carefully designed considering ease of operations for operators. The methodology used for devising the screen layouts and the process flow has been kept similar to that of the parent system of NSDL and CDSL for the DP's thereby making the system easy to understand for the end user.
Entry and validation is designed to utilize bandwidth efficiently.
Help lists are provided for all common fields such as client id, ISIN no. Search is provided with combination of field values and/or wild card characters. Online context sensitive help is provided.
Robust Billing
Billing module is the most complex and important part of the system; and it is one of the most comprehensive modules available in the industry. To give an example, bill-processing time of 20 minutes is achieved for processing 110 different billing schemes on client base of 1,00,000 and 6,00,000 transactions.
Reliable and Scalable
Offers extensive control to configure the access rights to the system. This facilitates control over; which branches would be operated by a user till whether he/she can view a report or not. This system also enables the DP's client to access the system securely over the Internet where by increasing the DP's reach (no need to use SPEED-e offered by NSDL), allowing the clients to submit instructions electronically as well as view their statements.
Integrated operation
The same operator can perform CDSL and NSDL operations, hence application user interface is kept uniform to ease use for integrated operations of CDSL and NSDL systems.
Augmented with Other Products of Winsoft
Winsoft provides a range of products for automating various DP tasks. Winsoft's products for Depository Participants include the first of its kind IVRS system for DP (WinTDS). DP report emailing system, generates reports in html, pdf and text format with digitally signed, emails and PDF reports (DePAM). All the products use the same database thus reducing the administrative tasks and better utilization of resources.
Basic Features of DeMATrix System . . .
User security, administration, access control and audit trails. Client account Maintenance with account freezing and modification, reporting. Demat/Remat processing with status tracking and reporting. Settlements processing with slip inventory control ad POA support, electronic instruction imports with digital signature support for security.
- Billing with a wide range of flexible scheme maintenance, what-if analysis, with robustness and speed. Interface with various banking software system to facilitate direct client bank account debit for bill amounts. Reporting module including bill cum transaction with outstanding report for bulk printing as well as franchise sharing report.
- It provides the facility for establishing security-using instruction slip numbers for transferring shares.
- Generates a host of user specific MIS reports and Client reports, including transaction and holding report for bulk printing.
- Financial accounting system maintaining client ledger and outstanding with an interface to banking systems (for ex. Finacle) to debit bill charges directly.
- Document tracking system for both inward and outward documents with comprehensive reporting, for example tracking Demat request flow.
Road Map for DeMATrix . . .
Offline entry utility. This is to provide a way to work offline even if branch network links goes down. Capture the instruction through scanning and storing it in central repository with indexing. Direct instruction capture by clients.
Hardware Requirements:
Database Server : 2 CPU Xeon server with 2 GB RAM, 120 GB of hard disk space preferably Ultra SCSI with raid support, DAT and CD drive, Giga (1 GBPS) LAN port. Web Server : 1 CPU Xeon server with 2 GB RAM, 40 GB Ultra SCSI hard disk with CD Drive , Giga (1 GBPS) LAN port. Local Area Network : 100 MBPS LAN for all machines should use switches supporting server side Giga port and 100 MBPS for client side. Branch Connectivity with Head Office: At least 64 KBPS line. One connect to existing wide are network. The IIS server can connect to multiple networks provided it has got multiple LAN cards or switch can be installed to handle it. Client machines should be at least PIII 800 MHZ, 256 MB RAM, 40 GB hard disk.
