Smart Signing Utility from Winsoft

The utility is a perfect solution to digitally sign, encrypt and decrypt confidential and/or important data files in any format and send it over e-mail securely. An easy-to-use, wizard based utility, this is a great successor to the U2U Data Transfer Utility in terms of reliable data transport between individuals and offices. The utility has following aspects.

Digital Signing

For Digitally Signing a document, you need an x.509 digital certificate which can be on your computer, saved to a file, on a floppy, in an USB token or a smartcard. The utility allows you to select your certificate from any of these locations and use it to sign files of any format. Signatures are in PKCS #7 format.

Simple menu, wizard based design and a user friendly interface guides users through the signing process. This makes signing extremely simple even for first time users, with a negligible learning curve. You can select a file of any format to sign and then select the location of the certificate to sign the file. A file can also be co-signed by more than one signers.

Winsoft is a partner to SafeScrypt, the first Indian Certifying Authority for VeriSign ä Certificates. For the types of certificates and their details, available through Winsoft, please refer the attached document.

Encryption

The utility supports encryption of files of any format. A wizard guides you through the encryption process.

File encrypted by Winsoft's Utility can be decrypted by any PKCS #7 compliant application. A user will only be able to decrypt a file if he/she has been specified as a recipient. On successfully decrypting a file, the original file is saved at user defined location.
